Dear ,

Spring is a time of change, renewal and new beginnings. This week marks the launch of a new RGB Imaging Web site and the release of the Lightroom 2.0 public beta.

RGB Imaging's new Web site promises to be an improved platform for publishing How-To articles, white papers and provides a broader range of resources to help you streamline your workflow. With this change, many of the links included in past newsletters will break, sending you to the site map instead of the article. In coming weeks, we will update archived newsletter issues with accurate links to articles, white papers and video tutorials. If you are looking for a resource and can't find on the new site, please e-mail me and I'll help you locate it.

With the release of Lightroom 2.0 Public Beta, Adobe Lightroom pushes raw processing to the next level. During the spring, We'll be changing our focus from the UPDIG workflow to Lightroom 2.0 with a series of video tutorials on harnessing the powerful new tools in the new version. This new release moves Lightroom one step closer to being the primary image editing tool for photographers.

                                     Happy Spring!

Adobe Lightroom 2.0 Beta Release
Two of the most important new features in Adobe Lightroom 2.0
are the ability to perform selective corrections on raw files and support for multiple monitors. Instead of providing a comprehensive list here, I'll let John Nack, product manager for Adobe Photoshop sum up the new features.

Shock The Munki

At WPPI, X-rite introduced Colormunki, the next-generation color management solution for photographers and graphic designers. Look for a full review of Colormunki in an upcoming issue of the Professional Digital Workflow E-Newsletter.

2008 Southern Short Course Winner

Scott Strazzante of the Chicago Tribune had both the insight and the patience to photograph two families living on the same plot of land, in very different circumstances. The result is a series of photo pairings that show how similar lives can be. (Click on the photos to launch the gallery)

2008 Pulitzer-Prize Winner

While the Washington Post brought home six Pulitzer Prizes for reporting, the award for feature photography went to Preston Gannaway of the Concord Monitor for her story "Remember Me."

A slideshow of her Pulitzer-winning entry can be found here.

Photography 2.0

While Lightroom 2.0 is a significant step forward for image processing the next generation of photographic tools will truly revolutionize the process of photography. Here's a glimpse into the future.

5 Years In Iraq

March 20th marked the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq. Two multimedia presentations document the anniversary from two unique perspectives.

Reuters: Five Years of the Iraq War

A comprehensive look at five years of the Iraq war from the perspectives of journalists who are there covering the war. A powerful visual journal from the front lines. While we all marvel at the photos sent from war zones we often forget the sacrifices that journalists make to bring us the stories, photos and videos that make tangible the abstract concept of war.  (Warning: This presentation contains several graphic images.)

In this month's tutorial, we conclude our four-part series on incorporating the UPDIG Guidelines Into Your Workflow with a tutorial on delivering files to clients.

In this tutorial, you'll learn whether you should deliver RGB or CMYK files to clients, what metadata you must have in your photos and three ways to deliver photos to clients with ease.
