Dear ,

This year has brought an extraordinary amount of change in politics, the economy and technology. Undoubtedly, change, the buzzword during the presidential election, is the defining force of our times.

As we plan for 2009 and the changes it will bring, it's a good time to reflect on the changes we've seen in 2008. We've made the leap to new versions of Lightroom, Photoshop and the Creative Suite. We've seen a greater adoption of video and multimedia by photographers and news outlets and we've elected a new president and members of the House and Senate who, we hope, will knowledgeably guide us through these uncertain times.

In the coming year, I'll continue to use this newsletter as a forum to teach, inspire and inform. I hope to help you practice the art and craft of photography by removing technical obstacles, highlighting opportunities and calling attention to exceptional photography, design and technology.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you. I welcome your ideas and feedback on what you'd like to see more of in this newsletter.

I wish you the very best in the year ahead.

                                               Jay
